Zuzana PORVAZNIKOVA, team Germany assistent of coach: “We’re thrilled from the win! The game was tough, however we were prepared and fought as hard as we could. We’re very happy as today we’ve seen girls on the field who didn’t have the chance to play yesterday. All in all, my team and I are excited, and I’m glad we didn’t give in, mentally or physically. We were watching recordings from their last games and preps, paying attention to every detail. The girls could deal with her (Zoe Sprengers) in the first half. In the second we were losing ground, mainly in our defence, however we switched our focus on attacks and in the end, we won. I think our performance was much better than yesterday.”
Leonie KOCKEL, team Germany player of the match: “It was extremely important to win this game and to affirm our position in the group and to secure our progress to a higher one. This way, we can finally fight as one for the whole team. One for all, and all for one.”
Edwin JANSSEN, team Netherlands coach: “Germany is a very strong team, we knew that in advance. We tried everything, however, we made too many mistakes in the attack, a few in the defence. Germany took used from it, as sometimes we couldn’t handle it physically. But we did handle it as team. Zoe is an example of our team. She puts everything a game needs- speed, strength, action.”
Zoe SPRENGERS, team Netherlands second time player of the match: Germany did very well. We fought, we lost. Now we have to prepare ourselves for the next game. We’ll go to the limit. It’s the game, it’s handball. We chose handball, so we got to be tough.
